Looking for corporate HGV training?
For BusinessGood quality HGV training doesn’t have to be expensive, and at Easy As HGV we’ve perfected delivering our training in just 4 days whilst maintaining our fantastic first time pass rates. Our affordable, speedy courses mean you can get into a well-paid HGV driving job in no time. Newly qualified Category C drivers can earn up to £26k a year!
If you want to become a HGV instructor, then you first need to have a HGV license yourself, and have held it for at least 3 years. This allows you to supervise a learner driver. You don’t need to take any formal training, or be registered in order to teach someone to drive a HGV, but courses are available.
The amount HGV drivers ear in the UK varies, but a typical starting salary is between £19-24k for a newly qualified driver. If you have more experience, or a range of different categories of HGV license, then you can earn significantly more – sometimes up to £40K a year depending on your employer.
If you’ve already passed a standard drivers test, then you understand the format, and the kind of things expected of you. Passing your HGV test isn’t too difficult, but you do need to be able to concentrate, stay calm, and be confident in your knowledge and your ability behind the wheel. If you’ve trained with a good school, this shouldn’t be a problem.
If you want to be a Class 1 driver, you need to have passed an extra practical test, on top of your Driver CPC and Cat C. Passing this test adds a category E to your licence, and shows you are a committed and driven professional. You can do this extra test right away with your Cat C – there’s no need to wait.
There has been a driver shortage in the UK for a long time now, and research shows the shortage is gradually getting worse. Over the past 10 years, the shortage has grown and grown. There are currently only 320,000 drivers working, and demand for 370,000 to fulfil need.
