13 Times HGV Wraps Got it Absolutely Right
Let’s be fair, you can’t go wrong with a Mars Bar – that killer mix of nougat, milk chocolate and gooey caramel. And if you happen to pass this giant version as you’re approaching Heston Services, how could you possibly resist the temptation to nip in and get a more traditionally sized one to accompany your coffee?
The Cola Wars on the Back of the Lorry
OK, so it seems that the convenience food / snack industry have really taken up the mantel when it comes to clever vehicle wraps adorning the sides of HGVs. So you’d expect the big guns from the soft drinks market to get in on the act.
Coca-Cola, of course, are no strangers to truck advertising – with their ‘Holiday’s Are Coming’ campaign a fixture in the Christmas build-up year after year, all over the world. But, as we can see here, they’re happy to ensure that their delivery trucks paint the right, and most refreshing, picture all the year round.
However, not to be outdone, perennial cola rival Pepsi have come up with their own ingenious HGV designs, including this delightfully head-turning graphic that turns things very much upside down.
The Nesting Trucks
We just simply love the ingenuity of this one. The HGV version of the Russian Nesting Doll, replete with its own little container in the middle, this ad for the toy car manufacturer Hot Wheels is simply perfect marketing. Start with the big truck on the outside and work your way down to the Toy, but no less fun, miniature within.
Brilliant.
All we are saying
Is give peas a chance.
I’ll get me coat…
Refreshing the parts other truck graphics can’t reach
We cannot possibly advocate drinking and driving in any way shape or form. However, driving the drink from distribution centre to shop / pub / club need not be boring. Heineken claim to be the refreshing taste in lager and this is certainly a refreshed approach to livening up an otherwise mundane container truck.
Although not alone when it comes to Pure Genius
I suppose it will depend upon your personal taste which one you prefer. Are you a lager lover or a stout fella?
Either way, those canny marketers at Ireland’s most beloved export are similarly going straight to the gullet thank to this HGV graphic of a giant can of the black stuff.
And this is just a little bit cruel
Oh yes, we can just imagine tootling along the M1 and suddenly happening upon this vision in front of us. Frankly we’re not sure we’d know if we were coming or going.
An HGV design that was big in the 80s
The Rubix cube may have been an icon of the 1980s but it’s never really gone away, has it? And this clever vehicle wrap is a joyous demonstration of just how much fun some truck side advertising can really be. Now, wouldn’t this make you smile just a little bit if you happened upon this when driving?
Unless you’re like me and couldn’t even complete one side – which might recall more frustrating times.
And then there was Mack
Because if you’ve got any boys in your household under the age of 7 you’ll surely know that this is the Champion of HGV vehicle wraps. Mack the Truck – friend, confidente, ally and, crucially, transporter for cheeky race car Lightning McQueen. And now, it would seem, brought gloriously to life (in the loosest sense of the word).
