There are 2 categories of HGV licence. Category 'C' and Category 'C + E'. The main difference relates to how the vehicles are built.

Category 'C' - known as a 'Rigid' - the vehicle is all one unit and easier to handle (Class 2). |

Category 'C + E' - known as an 'Artic' (Articulated Lorry), has a separate cab and trailer and is more complicated to drive (Class 1). |

Drivers CPC (Essential for anyone wanting to drive HGV for financial gain, who took their driving test after 1997) - An extra theory and practical test - Includes all training materials - Theory & Practical test fees - Vehicle hire |
Obtaining these licences couldn't be easier!
New drivers must first pass the Category 'C' test before doing Category 'C + E'. Many people go for a back to back course where they can get their 'C + E' licence after they pass the Category 'C' course.
